A three-day event spanning all aspects of Dynamics business, Directions EMEA 2022 brought the technical, executive and operations community together to share insights and grow their knowledge.

We caught up with our delegates at this year's event to hear their top technology takeaways and bring you some of the latest Business Central developments and Microsoft solution incentives.

Firmly echoing the Microsoft mantra, 'Do More with Less' our team's top takeaways focused on helping clients do more with Business Central. Namely leveraging the very latest solution capabilities to tap into the capabilities of Power Platform and roll Business Central out beyond the finance function, creating a solution that empowers business growth through insight.

Increasing Business Access

Empower departments that don't run on Business Central to self-serve with read-only master data access for those employees that have a Microsoft 365 license, all while ensuring data controls via admin configuration settings. Increase collaboration and eliminate friction by providing every employee with access to the Business Central information they need and improve data security by reducing the need for pasting screen snippets of business data.

Plus with dedicated Business Central tabs in either Teams chat or channels, users can preselect the entity types and views they want to collaborate on - an invaluable tool for sales teams looking for on-demand sales order shipping insight.

Building on this concept of expanding Business Central beyond the traditional finance function, the integration with Power Platform was a key talking point at Directions EMEA 2022. Providing a rapid low code development environment Power Automate enables business users to automate repetitive tasks like moving data from one system to another, while Power Apps enables users to tap into the data housed in Business Central to better service both business users and end customers.

Microsoft Incentives

In addition to the insights, a number of Microsoft incentives were highlighted including;

Bridge to the Cloud 2

Microsoft is set to relaunch their highly popular 'Bridge to the Cloud 2' initiative in January 2023. Designed to support NCE or commercial Dynamics on-premises customers on their transition to Dynamics 365 online with a 40% discount on the standard commercial list price.

Monthly Subscription Discounts

While historically Microsoft has incentivised their annual subscriptions, Microsoft is offering customers upgrading from legacy or NCE the opportunity to avail of the annual discount on monthly subscription plans between now and June 2023.

In between hearing from keynote speakers and industry peers, our team took some time out to meet with both existing and prospective partners. Providing an invaluable opportunity to grow our relationships with best-in-class technology providers, ensuring we continue to bring the very latest and best solutions to our client's projects.
