Microsoft has recently announced the launch of Power Pages, the fifth component of the Microsoft Power Platform family of products. Whether you are a professional developer or lover of low code, this secure and scalable solution empowers business users to create web pages and websites quickly and easily.

This new launch builds on the already popular Power Apps Portals, which has for a number of years empowered users to create external portals that can be personalised in terms of pages, layouts and content. Now as a new standalone product, Power Pages can extend beyond the portal capabilities and enable organisations to securely build websites with new aesthetic functionality and optional advanced capabilities for customisation with pro-developer adaptability. Below we explore how power pages can empower users to build sites quickly and easily.

Create Using Design Studio

Users can easily design an engaging website using design studio in Power Pages with ready-to-use templates or they can start from scratch to harness their own creativity. Create with ease using drag and drop design functionality choosing from no-code components including videos, images, lists or business data forms. Easily style your site with customisable themes available from the styling workshop to align with your company branding and tone. Users can manage business data using the design studio by designing data forms and views on the pages created. All website pages are built on a standard framework that automatically renders across all platforms ensuring you can deliver a site that works for everyone on all devices.

Build Using Template Hub

Get up and running quickly with basic site features for your website using template hub. Start with basic building blocks for your site while easily customising each section or image. Users can also use a default template that includes navigation, page structures and commonly used pages. Add and manage schedule functionality to your website for appointments, in-person or virtual meetings with easy-to-use scheduling templates. Further users can create, track and even manage registrations for events using registration templates.

Upskill in Learn Hub

Explore a series of videos, guides, documentation, step-by-step tutorials and other resources to help you learn to build and customise the site you want for your business. With easy-to-use functionality and a learning centre, your team can easily get up and running and start creating Power Pages to meet business needs.

If your team has advanced developer skillsets, these can also be applied to Power Pages. Professional developers can fine-tune the website layout by editing the underlying HTML using the built-in code editor available in the design studio. More advanced capabilities are available using Visual Studio code as well as deployment capabilities and workflows using GitHub and Azure DevOps.

Power Pages run on Microsoft Azure and connects with Microsoft Dataverse which gives users peace of mind when it comes to security providing critical security capabilities to help collect and share information with website visits while protecting from any vulnerabilities. Users can help ensure administration and operational control by using the Microsoft Power Platform Centre of Excellence to help ensure governance.
